AX allows you to alter any character's accent always using the same key. This applies to symbols as well. For example "2" then F8 gives "²", "a" then F8 gives à, pressing F8 again gives â and again gives ä and so on. There is no need to remember any key combinations or use different keys for doing what is basically the same thing for example "à", "È" and "«" are all created by typing the base character then F8s - It is easy.

INTRODUCTION

Comment faites-vous vos devoirs en français? Avez-vous souvent besoin de caractères spéciaux que ne comporte pas votre clavier? Si vous souhaitez obtenir accents et caratères spéciaux instantanément, à partir de quelque logiciel Windows que ce soit, AX est exactement ce qu'il vous faut. Qui plus est, ce petit logiciel est gratuit.

AX permet d'accentuer un caractère en n'utilisant qu'une seule touche, toujours la même, ce qui vaut aussi bien pour les symboles. C'est ainsi que "2", suivi de "F8" donne "²", "a" suivi de "F8" donne "à". Faire à nouveau "F8" donne "â", et ainsi de suite...
Nul besoin de se rappeler des combinaisons de touches ni d'utiliser plusieurs touches pour accomplir ce qui constitue en fait une seule et même opération. Par exemple: "à", "É" et "«" s'obtiennent tous en tapant le caractère de base, puis "F8" - rien de plus facile.
• AX fonctionne de la même façon quelle que soit l'application Windows considérée, logiciel de traitement de texte ou éditeur, explorateur, tableur, etc.

• AX peut facilement être adapté à vos besoins propres en matière d'accentuation et de caractères spéciaux.

For those of you who care about correction, precision and detail, the OECD Style Guide, in particular Chapter 3 : Rules and Conventions, could prove to be an extremely useful reference source. It can be downloaded in PDF format here : http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/8/39/40500006.pdf.

CHAPTER I: WRITING FOR THE OECD and CHAPTER 2: PRINCIPLES OF STYLE provide information on topics such as how to write well, the structure of an OECD publication and the grammatical rules that apply.

CHAPTER 3: RULES AND CONVENTIONS (formerly published on line as Technical Guidelines) aims to answer those questions relating to the technical aspects of language use in an A-Z format.

The latest arrival among online translation memories, Linguee, can be an invaluable resource for translators lacking inspiration; the parallel texts which it gives access to for free are currently available in four language pairs, i.e. English-German / German-English, English-Spanish / Spanish-English, English-French / French-English and English-Portuguese / Portuguese-English, to which Chinese, Japanese and other languages are yet to be added.

TerminoTrad points towards Linguee from its " LazyTerm " and " Translation Memories " sections.

Mots - exemplifiés, définis, corrélés, traduits (de l'anglais), prononcés -, images, statistiques, etc.
